As Treasurer and Director of The Christian Action, Gerard K. Baka serves as a steward of the organization’s financial integrity and a strategic leader supporting its mission to serve vulnerable communities through Christ-centered compassion. This role combines fiduciary responsibility with governance oversight to ensure transparency, accountability, and sustainable impact.

Responsibilities as Treasurer

  • Oversee all financial operations of the organization, ensuring responsible management of funds in accordance with nonprofit laws and ethical standards.

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including budgets, income, expenses, and donations.

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports to the Board of Directors.

  • Monitor cash flow, bank accounts, and financial controls to safeguard organizational assets.

  • Assist in the development of the annual budget and ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and programs.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state nonprofit regulations, including financial filings and audits when required.

  • Work collaboratively with leadership to support fundraising initiatives, grants, and donor accountability.

Responsibilities as Director

  • Participate actively in Board of Directors meetings and strategic planning sessions.

  • Contribute to policy development, governance decisions, and long-term vision planning.

  • Uphold the mission, values, and faith-based principles of The Christian Action.

  • Provide oversight and accountability to ensure programs operate effectively and ethically.

  • Act in the best interest of the organization, exercising fiduciary duty, loyalty, and care.

  • Serve as an ambassador for the organization within the community, fostering trust and partnerships.

  • Lead with integrity, transparency, and humility in all financial and leadership matters.

  • Ensure that resources entrusted to the organization are used faithfully to serve those in need.

  • Support the organization’s Christ-centered mission through prayer, service, and example.

Term & Accountability

  • Serves in accordance with the bylaws of The Christian Action.

  • Accountable to the Board of Directors and the organization’s members.

  • Subject to regular performance and financial oversight as required by nonprofit governance standards.
